Dear Beloved Community of ICSJ,

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ

This is your brother in Islam, Nauman Khan. With the blessing of Allah I have the great fortune of being your new imam at service here at ICSJ. It is with a heart brimming with gratitude that I thank Allah for His assistance throughout the entire transition from Texas for me and my family. A move filled with excitement and emotion as it concluded an 8 year span with the Dallas community.

However, the warmth received within ICSJ reminded me of the immense blessing it is to be part of such a vibrant and blessed community. Indeed, it is in the tapestry of our diversity that we find strength. We come from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, yet we are united by our Faith & love for Allah and our dedication to living lives guided by His mercy and wisdom.

Each interaction, each smile, each moment of connection reaffirms the beauty of Islam and the power of our community.

Beyond my duties as  Imam, I am a seeker of diverse experiences and passions. You may catch me exploring the hidden gems of different coffee shops, finding solace in nature through hiking, or even shooting hoops on the basketball court. And if you happen to spot a motorcycle parked in front of the Masjid, safe to assume that it may belong to me—a reminder of the many facets that make up our beautifully diverse lives.

As we look ahead, I envision our community as a beacon of light, fostering safe and welcoming environments for our youth to thrive spiritually, physically, and educationally. Through engaging in civic activities and charitable works, we aim to instill a sense of purpose and compassion, nurturing future leaders who are grounded in faith and service. Similarly, creating spaces where our elders and seniors feel valued, respected, and connected, ensuring that their wisdom and contributions are cherished and celebrated.

In between, hosting the various family nights,  seminars and workshops geared towards adults, providing opportunities for growth, learning, and meaningful dialogue.

As your imam, I am deeply honored and humbled to serve you. Your trust in me is a sacred trust, one that is held with the utmost reverence. May Allah allow for this role to be served with integrity, compassion, and sincerity. May He empower us to keep striving to nurture an environment where each member of our community feels valued, supported, and empowered to grow spiritually.

We ask Allah to bless our community, to shower upon us His mercy and guidance, and to grant us the strength and wisdom to navigate the challenges that may lie ahead.

May He allow us to flourish and grow not only spiritually but also as a cohesive and compassionate community, embodying the timeless values of the Prophetic community.

May our hearts remain connected, our spirits uplifted, and our journey towards Allah guided by His mercy.

BarakAllahu Feekum,

Sheikh Nauman Ahmad Khan
